Vizcaya Museum

Miami, Tuesday, June 19th,

Juan P. Lluria, Art Historian, presented a lecture on Mme de Pompadour and the Arts at Vizcaya Museum. Mr. Lluria spoke for 1.5 hours to a packed house at the converted garage meeting room at the Vizcaya Museum. Vizcaya was honoring its volunteer guides and Mr. Lluria presented in what has become a much-anticipated annual event.

Mr. Juan P. Lluria and Carol S. Brock after Mr. Lluria's lecture on Mme de Pompadour and the Arts at Vizcaya.

Mr. Lluria lecturing talents are in much demand and on rare occasion such as this we get to see his exquisite knowledge of French history in action. His lecture circuit competes with his personal property appraisal business Lluria Fine Arts Services, which keeps him extremely busy. Mr. Lluria is a Master Appraiser with the International Appraisers Association based in Miami of which he is a co-founder.

When asked for a comment after his lecture Mr. Lluria expressed the wish that he could lecture more on "the 18th Century, a period that still sets a standard for us today in the art of civilized living." The museum's guests, who are volunteer guides, shared a light lunch with Mr. Lluria afterwards in what turned out to be a beautiful Miami day. In the afternoon Mr. Lluria gave a private tour of the Vizcaya museum.
